This is a fairly simple project and I think it's many people's first introduction to using AWS to build a realworld project (myself include).
Roadblocks and Solutions
- Transferring Outside Domain: I ran into an issue
Areas for Improvement
- Applying ACLs to the relevant S3 buckets so that the contents can only be accessed via the website.

I was familar with the concept of CI/CD, and had some limited experience via CircleCI, but using AWS I was able to get a much more granular level of control and understanding.
Roadblocks and Solutions
- The big issue was putting together the build.yml file that is needed for everything to be happy.
Areas for Improvement
- Not so much an improvement as a lateral move, but this whole set-up could be tweaked slightly to work with Github instead of CodeCommit.

Elastic Beanstalk was one of the first AWS servies I heard about and it dovetailed nicely with the Spring Boot that I was learning at the time. Ultimately this project created two spin-offs: creating a CI/CD pipeline and tying the backend to an AWS hosted database.
